Game Night Turns Into Kids' Night

At least a year ago I brought a few card and board games to Medellin from my homeland, hoping to recreate the fond memories I had of playing cards with my mom and family friends when I was younger. Well besides the fact that anything not technological does not strike Gio as "fun," I myself have not made enough effort during my time here to get friends together to relive those "fun" game nights I always saw on Will & Grace where adults make fools of themselves to get any point they can. So I finally took the initiative and inviting our friends who coincidentally have children. I say coincidentally because we have friends who don't have children of course, and the connection between people with children and their willingness to play games does not seem to me like a proven correlation. So of course the children were invited, and for some silly reason despite my 10+ years of babysitting I imagined the kids would be able to occupy themselves at 2 and a half years old. So of course that was not the case, as you can see from the photos, our game night turned into a babysitting night. But alas, if anything it served as a reminder at the end of the night how nice it is to say good-bye to children after an energetic and exhausting night.

Our two kiddos, Max and Sofie, getting reacquainted with one another. Well Max was ready to go since he got there, Sofie needed some convincing.

What could be more fun for a kid than somersaults and jumping on the bed?

And here's Uncle Gio, showing 'em how it's done.
Alright, I'll show ya.

Ah yes, old friends!

City Shots in this Small Town

Lately I have not been fully taking advantage of this wonderful view that we have from what seems like the top of Medellin valley. Gio of course has been, taking live videos almost every day. Turns out that after posting one of his almost daily videos on Twitter, a former resident of apartment 2503 tweeted him with photos taken while she lived in the same flat! Now Gio has about 400 followers, small peas compared in the Twitterverse and for Medellin's population of 2 million habitants. But of course, one of his followers happens to have lived in the same apartment, of course! Below are some photos taken with the fishbowl affect of my camera along with some cool ones taken by our Apt. 2503 friend ADiaz.
